Once and Future King: The chapter with the number that is the sum of 42/42*2

So, Arthur, as I will call him now, journeys into the forest while running after the hawk. He runs for a while, and loses himself. Suddenly, he sees a man, who says his name is King Pellinore, and has been lost for 17 years in the forest. Arthur asks him the way back to the castle, and Pellinore says he’s never heard of it. Arthur invites Pellinore to come back to the castle, if he can find the way, and Pellinore accepts. Pellinore tells him of the ‘Questing Beast’, which is what he’s been searching for for the past 17 years. Suddenly, Pellinore hears the beast and gallops off on his horse, leaving Arthur alone.

That was a pretty short chapter…. Well, the next one is longer, so bear with me.

To Kill a Mockingbird: Review

My rating: 9/10

I just finished ‘To Kill a Mockingbird a few seconds ago, and I have to do a narration for school anyway today, so I thought “I should do a short review of this book!”, and I will, right now, this second, no more waiting, no distractions, Oh hey, a donut!

*10 seconds later*

Ok, back on topic!

So, I always wanted to read this book, ever since a few weeks ago. 😛

I asked friends and family what it was about, and they didn’t give a detailed description, and now I know why, and it was probably because of everything that happened in the book, along with not wanting to spoil it for me. So now, I’m going to spoil it for you give you a description of the book!

So, the book is told in First-Person, by an 8-year old Scout Finch, the protagonist of the book. Her father, who’s name is Atticus, is a lawyer, and her brother, the other protagonist, is named Jem (short for Jeremy).

Scout has to face a horrible racist situation, when her father is appointed to defend a black man. In the trial, Atticus reveals the truth, which is against the accusers, but still results in Tom (the black man) being thrown in jail. He makes a run for it, and, big spoiler, gets shot.

The rest I’ll leave a mystery, because you should really read this book if you haven’t already.

So yeah, I really liked this book, it showed an 8-year olds perspective on racism, and justice. Fun Random Fact: This is Harper Lee’s ONLY novel.

Not-trip post #1: Life back in Austin

Geocaches: 324
What I’m doing right now: School

So, as you see from the title, I won’t be using the “Trip Post #” anymore until late November, cause we’re not on our trip technically anymore….

So, there’s 2 purposes of this post, 1 which is this can count for my narration for school, and 2……………. Yeah, there’s just 1 reason.

So (ALL OF THESE PARAGRAPHS START WITH SO!), since we got back to Austin, soccer has been CRAZY, I played my first game (2-2), then watched Jadyn’s game. We have soccer practice almost every day, and 7th Grade for me is just more work than 6th. We’ve reconnected with our friends, after the amazing thing we did when we surprised everyone and freaked them out.

So yeah, normal homeschool life, at least for 3 months, with our friends, with our stuff, with each other, with a lot of soccer. I’m doing a Chemistry Course with Duke University on Coursera, and that’s been fun. I should probably get back to school now, and get a move on, so, I’ll write again soon, probably with another narration or something like that.

Here’s a picture of Isaac blocking a goal in soccer practice:

Once and Future King: The chapter before the second

Another narration for school! Yay! Hopefully it’ll be better than just a stereotypical narration….

Ok, introducing the main character! His name is Wart. Do you know him? No? Think again, that’s just his NICKNAME! His real name is ARTHUR PENDRAGON, but let’s just cross that last name out cause no one knows that he’s a Pendragon yet. PENDRAGON. There we go! Now, on with the story!

Arthur’s daily life includes reading, writing, swordsmanship, fencing, hawking, existing and archery, just to name a few. He is adopted, has a brother KAY, like K, except with an A-Y, has a foster father name Ector, like…. Actually, his name is nothing like anything! So, yeah. Father’s name is Ector, Older brothers name is Kay, kay? Got it? Good.

So, Wart and Kay go to the owlry for hawks, and fly Cully, a young hawk even though Hob, who raised Cully, told them on many occasions not to fly him. Cully flies into a tree, and the chapter ends with Wart and Kay having a staring contest with Cully, with Kay saying it’s not his fault if Hob finds out that they let Cully out.
